Thịt heo rửa sạch, cắt nhỏ, ướp với hành tím băm, đầu hành lá cắt nhỏ, 1 muỗng canh nước mắm, 1 muỗng cà phê bột ngọt và 1 muỗng cà phê tiêu trong khoảng 20-30 phút.
Củ cải muối ngâm nước khoảng 15-20 phút rồi vớt ra xả và vắt nhiều lần với nước sạch.
Đun nóng 2 muỗng canh dầu ăn, cho thịt đã ướp vào đảo đều tay. Khi thịt cháy cạnh thì cho 1 muỗng canh đường vào. Tiếp tục đảo đều cho đường tan vào bám vào thịt thì thêm củ cải vào. Đảo thêm 5 phút thì thêm 1/2 chén nước lọc vào, đun đến khi cạn thì thêm hành lá cắt nhỏ vào, trộn đều và tắt bếp.
